Meet Our Community Partner for the 2024 Champlain Valley Fair

It's National Reading Month — the perfect time to announce the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) will be our community partner for the 2024 Champlain Valley Fair. Being chosen as the credit union’s community partner provides CLiF with a unique opportunity to spread awareness and raise funds for its programs in Vermont and next door in New Hampshire.

“Bringing on a community partner is a great way to build relationships with and offer opportunities to non-profit organizations,” says Morgan Salter, Community Relations Manager. “The Champlain Valley Fair draws in crowds from all over, including youth on Kids Day, so it made sense to choose an organization that also serves a larger region. In addition to that, CLiF had a great way to tie in the fair’s agricultural roots to their presence, making it an amicable match.”

“We are so excited to be a part of the fair and are most looking forward to interacting with kids and families outside of our usual school-type settings to share the joy of reading,” says Mary Edith Leichliter, Project Specialist at CLiF.

The 2024 Champlain Valley Fair, presented by NorthCountry Federal Credit Union, will be held August 23 through September 1. This is NorthCountry’s second year as the fair’s presenting sponsor.
NorthCountry Federal Credit Union’s mission is “to make dreams come true for all by offering personalized financial solutions.” It is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned entirely by its accountholders. Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in its field of membership is eligible to join. It has locations throughout northern Vermont.

CLiF is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to nurture a love of reading and writing among under-resourced children throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Since 1998, CLiF has supported and inspired over 400,000 young readers and writers through its literacy program grants, and has given away over $10 million in new, high¬quality children's books.
